My Niece's Journey after ECMO Six Months Later

Journal entry by michelle anderson — 20 minutes ago
It has been six months since we almost lost Lilly, it has been a journey to say the least. We are so glad the Lord let her stay upon this earth she has come so far in the last six months. Lilly has had a few appointments this past week the pneumonia is healing nicely which is good. Lilly still has a lot of issues, she vomits daily the doctors feel that her stomach has just not completely woken up since her organs started shutting down six months ago so the GI doctor wants to try some technique that involves electronic wave currents to help the stomach wake up. Lilly will also need to see a neurologist and probably have a CT scan of her brain to rule out anything within her head causing problems with the rest of her body.  She still suffers from a lot of lower extremity swelling so the surgeon is going to have an ultrasound of her legs to see if she needs to have a procedure to possibly widen her veins to help the circulation better and decrease her swelling. Lilly also gets flushed a lot and with the nausea and vomiting  so the cardiologist does not want Lilly to over exert herself in any way so she is getting Lilly a handicap sticker so she is not walking to far wherever she goes. Lilly's doctor increased her depression medication to help her with all of the struggles she has been dealing with, they are also concerned with Lilly going to school full time with all of her ongoing health issues so she will probably return only half time for now. It has been a journey for her to say the least and she still has a long ways to go. God must have some serous plans for Lilly in this life. Please continue to share Lilly's story and the gofundme page as this has taken a huge toll on finances, Amy has to miss a lot of work with all of the appointments just yesterday she spent 8 hours between all the appointments.

Blessings,
Michelle

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
